La tension entre histoire post-coloniale, racisme ordinaire et construction de soi au sein d&rsquo;une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 multiculturelle est au c\u0153ur de la d\u00e9marche. Il s&rsquo;agit \u00e9galement de montrer en quoi le roman trouve un \u00e9cho vibrant dans l&rsquo;Angleterre des ann\u00e9es 2000-2020, notamment avec le Brexit, et en prenant en consid\u00e9ration les d\u00e9nonciations de la violence raciste par des artistes contemporains tels que le dramaturge Dennis Kelly (<i>Orphans<\/i> 2009) ou Riz Ahmed (<i>Englistan<\/i> 2016, <i>The Long Goodbye <\/i>2020).
