Bien qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;appuie sur plusieurs sources d&rsquo;informations (voir la page du mod\u00e8le), il donne parfois des r\u00e9sultats qui peuvent surprendre, o\u00f9 qui diff\u00e8rent des repr\u00e9sentations \u00ab\u00a0canoniques\u00a0\u00bb de la lithosph\u00e8re que l&rsquo;on a tendance \u00e0 retenir et \u00e0 transmettre.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;exemple du plateau tib\u00e9tain est par exemple \u00e9difiant, sur le site de Planet-Terre, la lithosph\u00e8re est plus \u00e9paisse sur ce plateau qu&rsquo;au Sud du continent indien, alors que c&rsquo;est l&rsquo;inverse sur lithosph\u00e8re n&rsquo;est pas tr\u00e8s \u00e9paisse sous les cha\u00eenes de montagne de collision r\u00e9centes &#8230; ce qui peut poser souci lorsqu&rsquo;on confronte ces mod\u00e8les \u00e0 ceux qu&rsquo;on enseigne.
